David started coon hunting in 1985 and has owned and/or hunted many of the different hound and tree dog breeds. From 1987 to 1997 while still a teenager, David owned and operated a kennel on his family’s dairy farm in Northern Indiana, offering dog training to coon hunters across the Midwest. During those ten years, he successfully raised and trained dozens of coon dogs, many of which went on to receive Nite Champion and Grand Nite Champion degrees.
David took a short break from the sport after finishing college and then moving on to start a career, and later a family. In 2006 he got back into the sport, subsequently building a new kennel in Northern Indiana and in the process of picking up where his old bloodlines left off. David is excited about sharing his passion for the sport with viewers, and developing new friends and hunting partners across the country.
